Study Games

The engine room of any computer games industry is the people that it has available to develop the cutting edge titles. Within Queensland the games development industry has developed close relationships with a number of fantastic educational institutions. A number of these universities have taken a collaborative approach to education, actively forming partnerships with games companies including THQ, Auran and Krome.

All of the following universities offer undergraduate and all bar one offer postgraduate courses in the skill areas required for games development.

Bond University

Games are serious business. So build a career at the business end of the computer games industry at Bond University's School of Communication and Media on the Gold Coast.

Griffith University

The Griffith Film School is the only school in Australia offering a dedicated 3 year full-time undergraduate degree focusing specifically on Character Animation.

James Cook University

The multimedia game development Bachelor of IT (BIT) degree was established to take advantage of the strong creative industries presence in the region.

Qantm College

Qantm College is the leading private provider of education for the games industry in Australia. Boasting the first Bachelor Degree in Interactive Entertainment in Australia, Qantm College has pioneered education for the games sector. The College’s Degrees and Diploma programs have been developed in consultation with the industry to ensure Qantm’s students have the best opportunity to meet the needs of employers and the industry.
